Women's Missionary Union's (WMU) main purpose is to educate and involve adults, youth, children and preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions. WMU offers opportunities for people to meet together for Bible study, witnessing, learning about world issues and participating in mission projects. WMU helps the church focus on prayer support and giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions, Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions and offerings for World Hunger. We invite you to participate in the following organizations:

Through Women on Mission, the organization for women aged 18 and over; WMU offers opportunities for fellowship, ministry, witness to others and personal spiritual growth.  Meetings are held on the first Monday night of each month at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Youth on Mission is for boys and girls in grades 7 thru 12 and gives youth an opportunity to grow spiritually, develop leadership skills, learn to witness, participate in missions projects and explore issues that affect youth. They meet at the Youth House each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and once a month have a mission related program.

Children In Action is for boys and girls in grades 1 thru 6 and encourages children to learn about God's love, become aware of the needs of others, learn the importance of prayer and start doing missions themselves. They meet once a month during the AWANA program time for a 30 minute mission emphasis program.

Mission Friends helps preschoolers begin to learn about God and His love and about becoming one of God's "helpers" here on earth. Mission Friends builds a foundation for children to understand God's plan for their lives. They meet once a month during the AWANA program time for a 30 minute mission emphasis program.

Martha's Ministry provides a meal, on the day of the funeral, to members and their extended family who have lost a loved one.  Sponsored by Women On Mission, this ministry is open to anyone in our church family.  Volunteers are divided into 3 teams so each person does not prepare food every time. The church provides the meat and team members are responsible for vegetables, salads, bread and desserts. Team Captains for 2006-2007 are:  Team 1: Peggy Brandon and Ruth Lane, Team 2: Nancy Palmer and Winona Dodson, and Team 3: Becky Boner and Belinda Holland.  If you are interested in this ministry, contact any team captain and join us in ministering to our members who are grieving.

There are other women who meet each Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Mrs. Wanda Buckner's home for bible study and prayer.  These are the prayer warriors of our church. Come join this group of ladies to pray for the prayer concerns of the church, community, country, world, government leaders, missionaries, sick, needy and any concern you may have.
